Township of North Dumfries Advisory Committees

The Township of North Dumfries citizen committees provide Council and staff with valuable input and insight on a wide variety of subjects through discussions, presentations and recommendations. For the 2022-2026 Term of Council, the following Advisory Committees have been established:

  1. Heritage Advisory Committee
  2. Leisure & Lifestyle Advisory Committee

Agendas and Minutes for the Advisory Committees are posted to the Agendas and Minutes page. All Agendas for Advisory Committee meetings are posted to the Township website at least six (6) days prior to the meeting. All Advisory Committee meetings are open to the public.

The Heritage Advisory Committee in its role as an advisory body is to recommend and assist Township Council on heritage matters related to Part IV and Part V of the Ontario Heritage Act, including the review of development applications involving cultural heritage resources, cultural landscapes and other related heritage matters as Council may specify. The Heritage Advisory Committee Terms of Reference outlines the role and structure of the committee in more detail.

The North Dumfries Leisure & Lifestyle Advisory Committee in their role as an advisory body is to provide strategic advice and recommendations to Township Council that will facilitate and promote inclusive recreation, leisure and cultural programs and activities that respond and support to the diverse residential population of the Township. The Leisure & Lifestyle Advisory Committee Terms of Reference outlines the role and structure of the committee in more detail.
