Dog License

Keeping dogs in North Dumfries is regulated by the Township's Dog By-law. If you have questions about this by-law, contact By-law Enforcement. Every resident of the Township of North Dumfries who owns a dog must have a dog licence. Details on the application process are provided below.

  • Submit a Dog Licence Application Form 
  • Valid for one year, expiring January 31st of the following year
  • Provide proof of rabies vaccination and spayed/neutered information

A Township dog licence is non-transferable. Failure to licence your dog with the Township could result in a fine.

    • Visit the Ayr Animal Hospital, 140 Melair Drive, Ayr (payable by exact cash or cheque)
    • E-transfer to payments@northdumfries.ca; send an accompanying email to payments@northdumfries.ca and attach the dog licence application and proof of rabies vaccination
