They also run a weekly lunch, "Young At Heart" for older adults in North Dumfries at Knox United Church.  Contact their North Dumfries Outreach Worker, Brenda Clements BrendaC@porchlightcnd.org, for more information on services offered for North Dumfries' residents, including the "Young At Heart" lunch.

Neighbours Helping Neighbours is a community group that collects food and donations throughout the year to assist families in the community. Created in 1990, it is a combined effort of the four churches in Ayr, collecting food, doing the yearly Christmas baskets, and providing gas cards to help families get to appointments outside of town when needed.

On August 13, 2018, Township Council passed By-law 2984-18 to establish the North Dumfries Historical Preservation Society as the Archivist for the Township for the time period through to July 31, 2023. The Township entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the NDHPS at that time. As a group of dedicated community volunteers, the NDHPS can, through the MOU, provide enhanced archival services by dedicating resources, time, and expertise to properly catalogue and preserve important aspects of the history of the Township as a Corporation.
