The North Dumfries Community Complex has a walking track around the upper area of the skating rink, which is free to use. The track is 200 metres per lap and provides an excellent, dry and warm place to walk. There is also a stretching and warm-up area on the track.
- Please be mindful of all track users and respect each other's space.
- No spiked footwear including track shoes, golf shoes, baseball cleats, etc.
- No inline skates, skateboards, bicycles or rollershoes.
- Please ensure wheels on strollers, wheelchairs, walkers, etc. are clean.
- No equipment, such as weights, sticks, balls, pucks, mats, skipping ropes, which may interfere with the safety of any walker while on the track surface
The walking track will not be open during Ayr Centennials hockey games, which typically happen Thursday evenings from 6:30-9:30 p.m. For the Ayr Centennials' schedule please click here

The North Dumfries Community Complex is home to the Breakaway Cafe, a snack bar on the second level of the arena, above the ice rink. The hours vary and the cafe is open during the fall/winter ice season. Stop by for a coffee and snack and watch a hockey game, or sit in the cafe area where the Township has provided free WIFI service.
Fleming Gray Skate Shop is located in the lower level of the North Dumfries Community Complex. Hours are:
Monday - CLOSED
Tuesday - 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Wednesday - 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Thursday - CLOSED
Friday - 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Saturday - 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday - 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The North Dumfries Community Complex has multi-purpose rooms and the larger MacNeil Hall.

There are two full size irrigated fields. Com Dev Field has lights for late night games. There are two mid-size fields that are used as smaller fields for young age groups. These fields are also irrigated. Cowan Park has washroom facilities open during the summer months.
The North Dumfries Community Complex is home to a large community garden located at the west side of the North Dumfries Community Complex.

The spray pad is open daily from the first Friday in June until Labour Day from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. There is no cost to use the spray pad. The spray pad and the accessible playground are equipped with washrooms.
The off-leash dog park is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and is located at the North Dumfries Community Complex in the field beside the health centre.
The Eby Trail wraps around Cowan Park. It is .09km around.
The Township of North Dumfries, in partnership with its community, has built an approximate 1,020 square metre Skate Park at Cowan Park, adjacent to the North Dumfries Community Complex. The Skate Park opened in October 2020. The Skate Park provides a safe, designated place for Skateboard, BMX, Scooter and In-Line Skate Riders to develop their skills and enjoy the company of their peers.
The Scorpions Volleyball Club offers programming in Ayr on our beach volleyball courts Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from May until August. When not in use, by the Scorpions, the courts are available for the public to use, first come, first serve. If you wish to book a court, please contact our Facility Booking Team.
The North Dumfries Community Health Centre, a satellite of Langs, is also located in the North Dumfries Community Complex. The Community Health Centre (CHC) team includes: physians, nurse practitioners, pysician assistants, registered nurses, social workers, registered dieticians, diabetes educators, community workers and admin staff.
