On-Street Parking Exemptions - Temporary Permissions
The Township recognizes that temporary relief of on-street parking regulations may be required. Special circumstances acknowledge unique or infrequent events in which temporary relief is warranted. The exemptions are not intended to function as a means for residents with insufficient daily parking availability on their own property to circumvent the parking enforcement provisions. The Township has established a permit program to recognize the special circumstances outlined below.
Overnight or extended parking permits recognize that sometimes these occurrences cannot be planned or accommodated in advance. The goal is to keep drivers off the road than have exceeded the allowable limits of alcohol or legal drugs. The exemption applies for up to twenty-four (24) hours for no more than two (2) occurrences in a month for the licensed vehicle to a maximum of seven (7) occurrences in a calendar year.
For more information on how to secure an on-street parking permit for temporary permissions please contact By-law Enforcement at 519-632-8800 ext. 107.
