Compliments and Complaints

A compliment is an expression of satisfaction related to a program, service, facility, or staff member of the Township of North Dumfries. A complaint is an expression of dissatisfaction. Complaints may relate to the actions of an individual or a policy, process or procedure. A complaint may be received verbally, by phone, by email or in writing.  Anonymous complaints will not be addressed.

The Township is committed to continuous improvement and open communication with the public in an approach where all feedback is dealt with fairly in a respectful, transparent manner, and as quickly as possible. We encourage citizens to submit a written compliment or complaint regarding a municipal program, service, facility or staff member.

Please submit any complements or complaints in writing at the Township office, or by email. It will then be forwarded to the appropriate Director and/or Manager for follow up.

Ombudsman Services

Anyone wishing to make a complaint against the Township must first seek resolution through the Township's internal complaint process prior to submitting a complaint with the Ombudsman. The Ombudsman provides services to residents to ensure that they have a local and efficient appeal process in case a complaint is not resolved directly with the Township.
