Zoning Compliance Letters

Zoning Compliance Letters provide information with respect to the zoning designation of a property and permitted uses. In addition, it provides details on active building permits, violations, and work orders. A letter of zoning compliance may be required when buying, selling, or mortgaging a property. You can request a letter, or your lawyer can request it on your behalf.

To request a Zoning Compliance Letter:

  1. Fill out an Application Form (or prepare a detailed written request)
  2. The fee for a Zoning Compliance Letter is listed on the Township's Fees and Charges page
  3. Send the form or request with payment to our finance department by email at: payments@northdumfries.ca or by mailing a cheque to: Township of North Dumfries, 106 Earl Thompson Rd, P.O. Box 1060, Ayr, ON  N0B 1E0
  4. Once payment and request are received, the process starts and the letter is prepared within 10 business days
